School Rules

  1. Every student should carry his / her Almanac to school every day.
  2. Parents are requested to avail the school bus facilities for their children.
  3. Class Teacher’s Period is a signal for all to go to their respective classrooms. This should be done promptly, in an orderly manner and in silence. As soon as they are in their classes, students must get ready for the class assembly.
  4. Changing of classrooms between periods should be done in silence and in an orderly manner. Students must move in a single file and not crowd outside classrooms in between periods. Bags are not to be carried from class to class.
  5. It is compulsory for all students of Delhi Public School Ruby Park to use the specified school bag (with School Monogram), available at the school bookshop and not any other bag.
  6. Students should be clean and always neatly dressed. The school uniform should be worn on all working days and for all school functions. Students who are not in proper uniform will not be allowed to enter their classrooms and may be sent home.
  7. Parents must ensure that the girl students wear knee length skirt and the boy students wear their trousers from the waist and not below it.
  8. Non-Sikh boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals.
  9. Students are not allowed to bring any sharp instrument to school.
  10. No book, (other than text books or library books) magazine or paper may be brought to school without the Class teacher’s permission.
  11. Lending or borrowing of MONEY or other articles is not permitted.
  12. Students who come to school accompanied by a domestic help should never leave school before the person arrives. In case of delay, they should report to the school office. Prior permission is needed from the school authorities, if the student has to return home unaccompanied by an adult. They should not loiter on the way but return home promptly. Students are warned not to buy or receive anything from anyone.
  13. The School reserves the right to issue TC to students on the ground of in disciplinary activities.
  14. Any student repeating a particular class for 2 consecutive years will be issued TC as per the CBSE Rules.
  15. Bursting crackers or splashing colours during Diwali/Holi or any other occasion in the school premises or in school buses is strictly forbidden. Non-compliance with these instructions can result in expulsion from the school.
  16. Students should attend all festivals and functions that are celebrated in the school.
  17. Parents of students, availing the school bus must seek prior written permission from the Principal when they want to take their wards home privately.

CODE OF CONDUCT

  1. Our students should be polite and disciplined wherever they go. They should always remember that the school is judged by the conduct of its students. They should greet all the teachers whenever and wherever they meet them. Bullying, use of foul language and vulgar behaviour will lead to strict action.
  2. They should take good care of their health and keep themselves physically fit and strong.
  3. They should never be cruel and should know that cruelty is the trait of a bully while kindness is the mark of a gentleman.
  4. They should always accept and complete whatever work is assigned to them.
  5. They should face difficulties courageously and confidently.
  6. They should always be ready to lend a helping hand at home to their parents, brothers and sisters; in school to teachers, companions and any unattended visitor whom they happen to meet on the school premises.
  7. They should never cheat, be unfair, steal from others or borrow others’ belonging without taking permission.
  8. They should stand when any teacher or visitor enters the classroom.
  9. They should be truthful.
  10. They should respect the aesthetics of the classroom and of the school premises and report any damage caused, to the teachers.
  11. They should never hesitate to say ‘NO’ when asked or tempted to do a thing, which they know is wrong.
  12. They should respect the liberty and rights of others.
  13. Instead of lamenting and grumbling over the evils of the world they should try to contribute their SHARE in making the world a better place to live in.
  14. They should look upon people from all parts of the world and all walks of life as their brethren irrespective of their caste, colour and creed.
  15. They should not waste their time in idle gossip.
  16. They should take pride in wearing their school uniform. They should not wear the school uniform in any public place outside school, without prior permission.
  17. No shouting or whistling is allowed in or around the school building.
    Running in corridors is strictly prohibited.
  18. Throwing things outside the window, physically hurting anyone inside the classroom, in the corridor or outside the school, throwing any object at anyone is strictly forbidden.
  19. Hair must be regularly trimmed. It must not cover the forehead or touch the collar. Girls must tie their hair in neat ponytails or plaits.
  20. Blazer is a part of the winter uniform and must be worn.
  21. The almanac and school identity card must be brought everyday.
  22. Students must not litter classrooms, subject rooms, laboratories and corridors.
  23. They should be proud of their Alma Mater.
  24. Students need to take permission in writing to carry a camera to photograph the school activity in or outside school. They are not allowed to upload any such photograph (On the social media) any student indulging in such an activity on the social media will face disciplinary action.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

The school lays great emphasis on discipline. The following are regarded as a breach of school discipline:

  • slackness, disobedience and disregard of the rules
  • Lack of good manners words or actions likely to lower the image of the school

The school reserves the right to expel students whose diligence or progress in studies is considered unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to the other students. Immorality, insubordination or contempt of authority and causing damage to school property are always sufficient reasons for positive action to be taken immediately by the school authority.

  1. Parents are requested not to enter classrooms to see their children or teachers during school hours.
  2. Parents are required to inform the school office, if there is any change in their address, telephone numbers and other relevant information, immediately.
  3. Children, when sick, should not be sent to school to attend classes. The parents cannot hold the institution responsible for any claims arising through illness and accident.
  4. Parents’ attention is drawn to the fact that criticism of the school or teacher in the presence of a child should be strictly avoided, because it causes the students to lose respect for their teachers with consequent failure to learn from them and retard their progress.
  5. Parents can meet the Principal on stipulated days (Please refer to page 27), after taking prior appointment.

  7. Attendance of both parents for the PTMs is compulsory and the Class Teacher should be informed about any absenteeism, prior to the meeting. Students must report in their school uniform.
    A respectable Code of Conduct should be maintained and punctuality observed at such meetings. Please refer to pg 48 for PTM details.
  8. Any COMMUNICATION made by the parent /guardian should be addressed to the Class Teacher. The Address and Phone No., Admission No., Name of the Student, Class, and Section should be clearly mentioned in the application.
  9. Parents should sign the progress report card and return it to the class teacher on the next working day. If lost / mutilated, a replacement will be made after the payment of the required fine of Rs.100 at the Administrative Office.
  10. The name, admission no., class, section and house of the pupil should be clearly marked on all belongings of the students for e.g. blazers, ties, jerseys, skirts, House T Shirts, socks, shoes, bags, scarves, etc.
  11. Parents are required to co-operate with the school in its attempt to help their children progress by paying attention to their attendance, punctuality and discipline and to take interest in their child’s work. They should check the almanac every day and note the instructions given. They are advised to check the bags of their wards to see if any circular / notice / invitation etc. has been issued. Parents are also requested to acknowledge the COMMUNICATION sheet in the school almanac by signing.
  12. Students are expected to take care of all school property and in case of any damage; it will be made good by the concerned student together with a fine imposed for the offence.
  13. Students are not allowed to wear earrings. Girls are allowed to wear only a pair of small rings / studs on both the ears. Students are not allowed to apply nail polish / mehendi / tattoos / kajal under any circumstances.
  14. Students are advised not to carry any cash (Please refer to pg 18 for canteen rules) or valuable articles for e.g. mobile phones, expensive watches, fountain pens, transistors, electronic gadgets, cameras, calculators or jewellery to school. In case of loss of valuables or other articles, the authorities will try their best to trace out the items but shall not undertake any responsibility for the loss. Or replacement.
  15. It is compulsory for all students to attend school on the first day of the beginning of a semester or after each vacation, and the last day before the end of a semester / beginning of a vacation. Otherwise, strict action will be taken by the school authority.
  16. The ward, whose parents avoid meeting the authorities when advised to do so, may not be allowed to attend the classes.
  17. Parents should not try to contact the Headmaster/Headmistress/Co-ordinator or teachers over phone; they can meet the Co-ordinator and teachers during the ‘Visiting Hours’.
  18. Parents must carry the Escort Card of their wards and personally see off and receive their wards at bus stop.
  19. Parents must first consult the school calendar, date sheets and other circulars before making enquiries over phone.
  20. Parents and guardians are requested to read and explain the school rules to their wards.
  21. Strict action will be taken against students using unfair means in examination.
  22. In the event of the student missing his/ her assessment due to his / her absence from school, there shall be no re – assessment for the student.
  23. Collection and distribution of lunch packets and other belongings is not the responsibility of the school and is not allowed. In case of an emergency, school will however provide a small snack to the child.
  24. No student is allowed to bring gifts, presents or return gifts etc. to school to mark his/her/other’s birthday or for any other occasion. At the most, a student will be allowed to distribute 2 toffees (eg. éclairs) per student in his/her section. No gifts, toffees, chocolates, etc. should be sent for Principal/Head-Mistress/Co-ordinator/Class Teacher/Subject Teachers/Non-teaching Staff.
  25. Students must wear school uniform even on his/her birthday.
  26. Parents are requested to carry the Escort Card on their person while visiting the school for any function organized by the school. If either of the cards is damaged or lost, an application along with one / two identical photo(s) has to be submitted to the office and the parent will be issued a temporary Identity / Escort Card, as the case may be. Further, parents shall be required to payRs. 100/- per Identity Card Our School is a plastic-free zone. All parents are requested not to send or bring any articles like tiffin, stationery, craft articles etc. to school in polythene bags.
  27. Parents / Guardians are requested not to approach the teachers for private tuition for their wards. If any student is found guilty of doing so, then strict action will be taken against both the parties and the student might be asked to leave school. If any kind of help is required, then the parents / guardians are requested to get in touch with the Principal and assistance may be considered as per the convenience of the school and / or the teacher.

 

RULES & REGULATION FOR REGISTRATION

Please read the following Rules and Regulations properly before filling up the Registration Form.

  1. Please fill up the Registration Form in Capital Letters.
  2. It is mandatory that Parents should fill the Registration Form themselves.
  3. Age criteria should be strictly maintained. In any case, if the child’s age does not match with the admission criteria of the class, the management holds the right to cancel the Registration Form (Refer Age Criteria).
  4. Attach one photocopy (Self attested by parents) of the child’s Birth Certificate issued by Municipal Corporation or proof of birth shown in the Passport. Do not enclose Birth Certificate issued by Nursing Home / Hospital.
  5. Submit four latest identical passport size coloured photographs of the child with Registration Form, Student Admit Card I, Student Admit Card II and Parent Card. Also paste latest passport size coloured photograph of parents or local / legal guardian on the Registration Form.
  6. The registration Form, duly filled-up and complete in all respect, should be submitted in person to the School Office. The parents / (local/legal) guardians are requested to bring Original MONEY Receipt (issued at the time of purchase of Registration Form) at the time of submission of Registration Form.
  7. Date of assessment / observation / interaction / interview will be given at the time of registration or intimated to the parents later on. The same may be changed, without prior notice, by the School.
  8. Registration does not imply admission, which is subject to assessment procedure and availability of seats.
  9. Applications must be complete and information mentioned in the Registration Form should be true. In case of any discrepancy with the facts, management holds the right to cancel the Registration Form as well as the admission of the child.

LIBRARY RULES

  1. The library is a “Silence Zone”. Students have to strictly maintain silence in the library.
  2. Students have to pay a fine of Re 1/- per day, for delay from the due date of return.
  3. Students are not allowed to enter the library with food, water and personal items. They must keep their bags outside the library before entering.
  4. Each student has to show his/her book at the exit during dispersal.
  5. For loss or damage of the library book, the student has to replace the same within 1 week.
  6. Each student has to check his or her library book during issue, and report impairment or any damage to the librarian. If any scribbling or damage to the book is found at the time of return then he /she will have to replace the book.
  7. Students should not bring back the issued library books to school except on the day of return as it might get lost.

DECORUM TO BE FOLLOWED

ABSENCE

  • 75% attendance is compulsory for all students failing which he/she may not be eligible for promotion, if applicable. The percentage may be relaxed on medical grounds or any other unavoidable emergency circumstances.

Repeated absence without leave or un-explained absence for more then 5 consecutive days may render the student liable to have his/her name struck off the rolls. Readmission may be granted only on the payment of fresh re-admission fee, at the discretion of the Principal/Headmistress.

No leave of absence is granted except on an application from parents or guardians for plausible reasons only.

A student returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease, should produce a doctor’s certificate, permitting him/her to attend the school.

WITHDRAWAL/ SUSPENSION

  • In case for any reason, a student after taking admission in the school wishes to withdraw, only caution MONEY will be refunded, subject to clearance of all dues payable to the school. In no circumstances, any dues payable to the school will be adjusted against the caution money. A written notice of withdrawal must be given one month (clear) in advance or one month’s tuition fee must be paid in lieu thereof.
  • A student may be asked to leave the school at the discretion of the Principal/ Headmistress on any one of the. following grounds
  • Disciplinary
  • Unsatisfactory progress in work
  • Detention or repeated detention in a class.
  • Any other ground that the Principal/Headmistress deems necessary/ appropriate in the interest of the school and its student
